Lavender And Friends Summary

I like this photo because it resembles me and my friends together, at least the way we were a couple of months ago. I've been friends with Naomi, Louise, Jenna and Lizzy since kindergarten. We've always been there for each other, but a few months ago something changed. Now all of them are still my friends, but they aren't each other's friends anymore. Louise's boyfriend assaulted Naomi and pretended they were secretly seeing each other behind Louise's back. Unfortunately Lizzy and Jenna said some mean things to Naomi without asking her for her side of the story. They did some irreparable damage and I don't think they're ever going to speak to each other again.
Louise and Naomi are sharing a house. They're really close and have also made some new friends. They've both made some major changes in their lives. They try to include me, but sometimes I feel a little bit left out. Jenna is pregnant and she's living together with her wonderful boyfriend. Lizzy is engaged and will be getting married in a few months. She's asked me to be her maid of honor, which is fantastic.

I've been friends with Gina for a very long time as well. She's my best friend and we're really close. I used to think that she was happily married, but her husband wasn't as sweet as he always appeared to be. Gina kissed with the man I was going out with before I met Calvin. I've forgiven her, but I didn't like what she did at all. Now I know the full truth behind everything I don't really blame her. I think she's handled things pretty well and I'm proud of her.

Sandy is my sister-in-law. We liked each other from the moment we've met and she also has a great sister named Stella. Both girls are traveling at the moment. We used to have Tuesday evening dinners together with a group of four. Now only Jada and I are continuing this tradition. We're cooking together every week until they're coming back and then we'll go on with our dinners.

Because of Naomi I've made a new friend. Her name is Franka and she's a cook in a vegetarian restaurant. I love her outlook on life and she's given me several cooking lessons already. I also have a lot of work friends, but will give them their own spotlight in a different post.

Summary: Family

My family is wonderful and we see each other quite often. My parents are retired. They have a big house with a fancy barn where they throw parties and besides that they travel and spend as much time together as they possibly can. My grandma and grandpa are still alive, they're really old, but they love life and follow as many new developments as they can. I visit them from time to time and if they have a good day they still come over to the house.
I have two siblings. My sister Dawn is the eldest. She has three children and they are named Phoebe, Marcy and Robert. My nieces and nephew are wonderful and I love spending time with them. I see those kids a lot, because Dawn's husband, Seth, is very ill. He's got a strange kind of virus and the doctors don't know how to treat it. They've transfered him to a special care unit where he's been for the past two months. My parents can only do so much and I'm trying to do my best to help my sister. She's the head of a large department store and she's running a successful online shop. She sells cosmetics and I love packing orders and trying her new products.
My brother Jason and his girlfriend Sandy are currently traveling the world. They've bought a house together and wanted to make one more trip before starting a family. I think they will come home for Christmas and that might be the end of their adventures abroad.
My uncle Peter and aunt Giselle have a bed & breakfast. They also have a cultural center where they organize all kinds of seminars. I sometimes go there to learn something new and to help out. It's a great combination of the two. They have no children and because they are my godparents we have an extra special bond.

Librarian Lavender's Love Life: The Story So Far

During the past couple of months I've written a lot about my life. You've been allowed to read about my friends, my family and my love life. I shared everything with you. Because I'm having a lot more readers now I thought it would be a good idea to start writing summaries. If you're new to my blog you know what's going on and if you've already been following for a while it's a good way to refresh your memory. From now on you don't have to scroll back anymore to read all the post about me and my life, you can just click Summaries to be informed.

I'm going to start with my love life. At the beginning of the year I met a guy named Oliver. I liked him a lot and we went out a few times. Things ended abruptly when I found out he had a girlfriend. This girl, Jada, is now one of my best friends. My good friend Stella, who knows us both, introduced us to each other. Neither of us wanted to date a two timing bastard, but we liked each other enough to give the friendship a try.
At the same time I met Ben. He was a regular visitor of the library, because his son, Samuel, loves to read so much. Because of his little boy Ben and I started talking. Ben is a kind and creative man, but he is also complex. I liked him a lot and am sad that things didn't work out between us. I went to Disneyland together with him and Samuel and that was the highlight of our relationship. I think we could have been great together, but Ben moved abroad. He followed his ex-wife and didn't ask me to come along.
I'm not lucky in love, so far I've never been and I'm still hoping to find my prince charming any day now. I keep looking and I have enough dating experience, but there has been no mister right. The next guy I dated was called Lester, he was a real gentleman, at least I thought so at the time. He was old fashioned and wanted to take things slow. We got along really well and could talk for hours. We also kissed a few times. Then I introduced him to my friend Gina. Unfortunately things ended between us before they even started, because Lester and Gina liked each other very much.
Lester and I wouldn't have been good together, I'm certain of that. There wasn't enough chemistry. I did meet someone else with whom I had that in abundance. I'd known him for a very long time as he used to be my roommate. His name is Calvin and I had the feeling that he was the one. I even wanted to marry him. Unfortunately he got another woman pregnant before he came back into my life. He didn't know about that until the baby was born. He left me and went back to her as soon as he found out.
I wish I had better news to share, but I'm just not good at finding nice and kind men. They either move away or they cheat on me. I think the reason for this is that I trust way too easily. I usually see the good in everyone I meet. I think that's one of my best features, but it's also a dangerous one, because it makes me blind for certain things that other people usually notice. I know the right guy is out there, I just have to find him.
