Agi & Suze's Christmas Countdown: Interview with Rachel & Giveaway!

About Rachel

Rachel of Rachel’s Random Reads – to tell that Rachel is an avid book reader would be an understatement I can’t stop wondering that this lovely woman can read so many books so quickly! Apart from reading, our lovely Rachel likes going to the theatre, travelling and watching sports on TV.

Interview

1) What’s your best Christmas memory?

Going to Selfridges, and meeting Santa each year at the big Santa’s grotto, when I must have been around 4. Everything was so magical, and then loving watching the polaroid photo of me with Santa develop, as at that age I only ever saw polaroids once a year with Santa!

2) What are your 3 favourite Christmas reads?

From the books I have read this year so far – A Miracle and Macy’s by Lynn Marie Hulsman, Every Time A Bell Rings by Carmel Harrington , A Christmas Tail by Cressida McLaughlin

3) If you could choose one person, dead or alive, to celebrate a one time special Christmas with, who would you choose and why?

My dad before he became ill, as I don’t really remember his role at Christmas, but would be lovely to spend one more Christmas with him.

4) What are your thoughts about Santa?

He’s real, and lives at the North Pole with his elves and toy factory. Why what are you trying to insinuate?

5) What are your best and worst Christmas gifts and why?

Best Christmas gift as a kid was probably my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle hand puppets as I was mad about the turtles that year. The worst is probably each year in my stocking, where I have £10 worth of lottery scratchcards and they are always losers!

6) Your favourite Christmas song?

Last Christmas by Wham

7) Your favourite Christmas movie?

Muppet’s Christmas Carol – the best version of the Christmas Carol story, and it has Muppets!

8) Top 3 books that you’re giving as Christmas presents?

I don't generally give books as Christmas presents. Just about everyone in my family would be disappointed if I gave them a book.

9) Most favourite and least favourite part of Christmas?

Favourite part is the build up. I have read Christmas books since end of September, been watching Christmas films since November, and listen to the music as early as possible. I love looking around at Christmas deparments and seeing the lights on Oxford Street.

My least favourite part I’m sorry to say is the day itself, as its always an anticlimax.

10) I must ask, sorry – the best Christmas food is…?

Yule Log with Brandy Butter!

  12. My favorite Christmas memory: With "Silver Bells," "White Christmas," and "Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer" playing on the radio nearby, the children and I would make Christmas cookies. I'd give each of them a small paint brush and put red, yellow, white and green frosting in small dishes. They would then paint their own Christmas cookies. When I close my eyes, I can still see the different colors of frosting on their little faces.
