About Alison

My name is Ali. I’m hoping to incorporate my current cancer journey along with my passions – books/reviewing & competitions. My aim is to post relevant info on Leiomyosarcoma, any interesting competitions, books I’m reading plus reviews.

Hopefully you will join me xx

Interview

1) What's your best Christmas memory?

This is an easy question - my son was born on Christmas Day :)

2) What are your 3 favourite Christmas reads?

This year:
Christmas at Lilac Cottage - Holly Martin
What Happens at Christmas - TA Williams
Winters Fairytale - Maxine Morrey

3) If you could choose one person, dead or alive, to celebrate a one time special Christmas with, who would you choose and why?

Florence Nightingale ... I wanted to be a nurse from the age of 5 and she inspired me to go on and become one.

4) What are your thoughts about Santa?

I love Santa .. there is something magical about Christmas so we should let kids believe for as long as they want to.

5) What are your best and worst Christmas gifts and why?

My best present of course has to be my son (Christmas baby)
My worst was when I was a child and my grandmother gave me a piece of coal because she said it was supposed to be lucky!! At the time I wasn't very impressed lol, but I can now see she possibly had good intentions!

6) Your favourite Christmas song?

Fairytale in New York - The Pogues & Kirsty MacColl

7) Your favourite Christmas movie?

It's a Wonderful Life

8) Top 3 books that you're giving as Christmas presents?

The Single Feather - RF Hunt
A Blonde Bengali Wife - Anne Hamilton
Faith Under Fire - Annie Watkinson

All written by friends of mine so I like to share.

9) Most favourite and least favourite part of Christmas?

I love the fairylights & decorations, carols and the lead-up to the big day .. least favourite is either cooking or clearing up afterwards!

10) I must ask, sorry - the best Christmas food is...?

Christmas cake

11) Do you perhaps know what gifts you're going to receive?

I have no idea .. but I always make a wish that I could have a cure for my cancer .. one day!
