Australia Days: Introduction

This is the second time I'm organizing an Australia themed event. The last one was a lot of fun and because I received several review requests from Australian authors and Etsy shops I decided to repeat it. I've given it the name Australia Days as last time it took me a bit longer than a week to feature everything I discovered. Of course I want to make sure I'll be able to feature every great thing I find.

I've already read quite a few books set in Australia or books by authors from Australia set in the UK and I love them all. I spent hours dreaming away. I can totally picture myself in a vibrant Australian city or a beautiful country town. I wish I could hop on a plane and go there tomorrow. For now I have to use my imagination, the stories of others and the abundance of beautiful photos I can find online.

I hope you will be as enchanted by Australia as I am and that you will dream with me. There will be plenty of book reviews, interviews, guest posts, shop reviews and giveaways. Everything is accessible worldwide. Preparing for this event has been great and I can't wait to start with my posts. I hope you will enjoy my Australia Days as much as I do!

  2. One of the greatest things about Australia is their wildlife and the fact that they mine their own Opals there of different varieties . I love Australian Opals because they show the whole rainbow of color in one gemstone . I also love their koalas , kangaroos , and even their movies like Priscilla Queen of the Desert , Opal Dream - 2006 , and Toni Collete who is one of my favorite actresses .

    1. Australian gemstones are often stunning and like you I love their Opals. Toni Collette is brilliant, I love her movies and have actually watched several (which says a lot in my case).

    2. Yes isn't she wonderful ? She is currently in a film with Drew Barrymore called Missing You about a woman going through cancer with her friend who is played by Drew . Opals are wonderful . I have also seen many movies of hers and if you go on imdb.com you can find her whole history of films she has done . I am looking forward to the Australia event because it's like we are all going on an adventure . Perhaps you could do an event from Greece or Hawaii or Morocco or Tahiti like a magical place you haven't done before , just as an idea . Thanks

    3. That sounds really impressive, I'll check it out. I'm currently working on Ireland as I'm going to do that one next. And there will be a lot more of them next year, both shorter and longer, whatever I can manage to organize :).

    1. Yes, I'll have both for a few days. We will feature a Christmas novella set in Australia and a regular novel with a great part about Christmas, so maybe they will help you picture it :). One of my biggest wishes is a beach barbecue for Christmas, I'm not sure it's ever going to happen, but I think it would be fun xx

  5. Two of my favorite Australian authors are Anne Gracie (historical romance) and Amy Andrews (contemporary romance). I actually met Amy in NYC in July!
