About Jenny Hale
When I graduated college, one of my friends said, “Look out for this one; she’s going to be an author one day.” Despite being an avid reader and a natural storyteller, it wasn’t until that very moment that the idea of writing novels occurred to me.
Sometimes our friends can see the things that we can’t.
While I didn’t start straight away, that comment sowed a seed and several years, two children, and hundreds of thousands of words later, I completed a novel that I felt was worthy of publication. The result was Coming Home for Christmas – a story about friends, family, and the magic of love at Christmas.
Many novels later, I find myself still writing. I am currently at work on my next novel.
Interview
1) What's your favorite Christmas memory?
I have a lot of them. One was when I was in high school when I was around 16, my youngest brother (10 years younger than me) still believed in Santa. After he went to bed, in the dark, I ran around the house with jingle bells so he’d think Santa was on his way.
2) What's your favorite Christmas song?
“All I Want for Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey
3) What are your 3 favorite Christmas reads?
I don’t have favorite Christmas reads. Rather, I enjoy actually having time over the holidays to read anything! I will pile up a few of the ones I’ve really wanted to read and dig in to those over the Christmas season. Sophie Kinsella is almost always on that list.
4) What's the best Christmas gift you ever received?
A six-pack of Hoegaarden! I love a good beer. Years ago, we couldn’t find it anywhere and my husband searched all over for it because it was one of my favorites. He found it and put it in a gift bag at the back of the tree. I was so surprised!
5) What does your ultimate Christmas look like?
My ultimate Christmas would have a night out on the town and a trip to New York or London with my husband. But really, time with my family—my husband and my kids—that does it for me.

DeleteThe best Christmas present I ever received was a necklace with a butterfly pendent. This was the greatest because even though it was from a boyfriend at the time he said it was from my kids. My son a few years before when he was about 5 picked out a ring with a big butterfly and a little butterfly and said I needed to buy it for my birthday because it was him and I. I treasure that ring still so the necklace melted my heart. (Yes, ladies - sometimes guys really know how to be thoughtful and sincere). :) (I entered above as Nicole Anderson)
