Delft Blue will always remain special for me. My great grandfather was a Delft Blue painter. He made the most beautiful artwork with amazing tiny details. It never stopped to amaze me. We had a painting made on tiles in our house when I was a little girl and it was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen. He made birth plates for his children and he also made mini paintings from windmills in the traditional Dutch colors. He wasn't very successful, so his art didn't make him rich, but he was definitely talented. The closest to fame he ever got was when his second cousin had a love affair with Vincent van Gogh ;). His art is in my heart and I hope that is where I'll be able to keep it alive for a little while longer.
Because I love the color combinations I've put together some things that look really Dutch. I will also feature a great Delft Blue artist later today.
Enter this giveaway for a chance to win a 'Delft Blue' Blond Amsterdam breakfast set with matching napkins and Amsterdam cookies and syrup waffles. Good luck!
