Dutch Days Etsy Spotlight & Giveaway: Suze Loves Ashbee Jewelry!

I love Ashbee Jewelry. It's a shop filled with the most amazing gemstone jewelry.

The quality of the items is great and the pieces are absolutely stunning.

Noor, the owner of the shop, uses a fantastic mix of materials and I like them all a lot.

I asked Noor a few questions to find out more about her and her shop:

When and how did your Etsy adventure start?

In 2008 I started as an Etsy seller and opened my other shop, Holland Fabric House for European fabrics and haberdashery. I really enjoy selling on Etsy because of the international community, interacting with customers and other sellers and the creative atmosphere. Ever since I can remember I’ve been making my own jewelry (from 2000-2006 I had a bead shop in Delft). I love being creative and to make other people happy with the things I make. Etsy is the perfect place to do that.

Where does your inspiration come from?

I see images that inspire me all the time and everywhere. I’m finding inspiration in nature, fashion, magazines, etcetera. What mostly fascinates me are specific color combinations or mixtures of textures. When I see something I like I usually automatically memorize the image. It could be a while before I use them, but most of the time I somehow translate them into a piece of jewelry at some point.

How did you learn to make jewelry?

I’m completely self-educated. In the six years that had my bead shop (I used to run it together with my mother), I tought myself plenty of jewelry making techniques. I organized workshops and passed on my knowledge. I love trying things out and perfectionalizing every step of a process until I completely master the technique. That’s the way I work.

What are you really proud of?

Every time I’m working on a new range, I choose a certain theme (the theme for this fall for example is brushes), I completely lose myself in it and when I’m done I’m proud of what I managed to achieve. Every necklace and bracelet is different, but they’re part of a whole and form a collection together.

What can we expect from you in the future?

My plan fort he future is to keep selling on Etsy on an international level and to expand my business on a national level as well. I’d love to sell Ashbee Jewelry locally as well as worldwide. But of course the most important thing is to keep enjoying my creativity!
