Sera is a sweetheart. She started at a college as far away from her hometown as she could afford. Being traumatized by a shocking event in her past she's often on her own. She has never dated anyone and relies on her best friend and roommate Kathleen. They are very different persons but they have found a strong friendship in each other. Sera works hard, is a straight A student and keeps to herself as much as she can. She has put her trust in the wrong people before and she will do anything to keep that from happening again. When Kathleen takes her to a party at a frat house she sees Liam. Kathleen is in awe about how gorgeous he is but Sera doesn't feel the need to meet him.

Liam is gorgeous, he is the hottie every girl wants. When he sees Sera in the crowd he asks around about her. The answers he's getting are; she never dates, just let her be. He challenges himself to get her to talk to him. Knowing that he cannot have her and that he will probably end up hurting her is completely forgotten for the moment. Sera turns out to be the love he has waited for forever. She is it! How will she cope with his secrets....can he be enough for her? The only thing he knows for sure is that he will never let anyone touch her or hurt her again.

Awakened grabbed me from the very first page. Brenda K. Davies has done such a good job in creating this story and the characters that I could feel their emotions. I love it when I can see the images in my head like a movie. This can only be done with amazing writing. If you're a fan of Twilight you will love this book, it has to be your kind of genre. If it is then you will absolutely enjoy this story. I didn't want to put it down and it cost me some of my sleeping time. I liked this great first book of the Awakenings series a lot.
