Australia Week: Suze Loves Empressionistar! & Giveaway

I love Empressionistar, a shop filled with the most beautiful accessories.

The products are made from leather.

There are quite a few ingenious options for gadgets like phone cases and Fitbit Flex bracelets.

The bracelets can also be worn as regular jewelry and they are stunning.

I love the gorgeous prints and can't stop looking at them.

I've asked Beck, the owner of the shop, a few questions to find out more about her and her products.

What inspires you?

I am inspired by colour and form with a highly detailed appearance, intricate detail of natural form particularly, and lost art forms. My latest interest is Elizabethan lace - which is very different in appearance to contemporary lace.

Where did you learn your craft?

I'm self taught and have been picking up techniques. I haven't attended any leather workshops as they teach traditional methods. and that's not what I want to do. I'd like to do a whole lot more with leather by adding metal findings, buckles, stamps, personalisation and make the pieces statement personal pieces that contrast with what you wear.

How do you get those beautiful images on the leather?

To get the images onto the leather is an expensive process which is also my trade secret. Its used by the top fashion houses like Etro, Stella McCartney, Givency and Dolce & Gabbana.

How did your Etsy adventure start?

I was working for an exhibition company who sold exhibition space to craft businesses. Part of my involvement was to encourage them to set up projects and shops with this company to attract visitors to the exhibition and their shops online. I loved seeing all the different craft exhibitors and was quite inspired by them and their work. I then discovered Etsy and found the perfect market place for my prints that are now over in Empressionista.

Always having a love of leather and silk, I did my research and decided to open a leather shop for phone covers and from there expanded on my range of items for sale.

What are your plans for the future?

I'm building my own website at the moment to broaden my range of items to be able to provide a range of prints and posters as well as the leather atelier items.

What do you like most about Australia?

I love the sub tropical climate, aussies positivity, creativity, design ethic and lifestyle here on the Northern Beaches and of course the space, flora and fauna and the heat. The list goes on.

Beck's accessories are really impressive and I love how fashionable they are.

I like the style and the colors are really pretty.

If you want something unique and different, Empressionistar is the place to find it.
