When
Sky falls from Blackfin Pier and drowns on her sixteenth birthday, the
whole town goes into mourning - until she shows up three months later
like nothing happened.
Unravelling
the mystery of those missing months takes Sky to the burned-out circus
in the woods, where whispers of murder and kidnapping begin to reveal
the town’s secrets. But Sky’s not the only one digging up the past – the
old mime from the circus knows what happened to her, and he has more
than one reason for keeping quiet about it.
Review
Nobody ever suspected that Sky would come home again. She drowned after a fall from Blackfin Pier on her sixteenth birthday. Somehow she's back again, but it's three months after her death. Sky has no memory of what happened to her on the evening she died. She also doesn't know what she's done and where she's been in the three months she went missing. She has a lot to figure out. That means she has to investigate both the present and the past. What happened to the circus in the woods? What does Sky's mother know and why doesn't she tell her daughter? There are a lot of questions that need to be answered. Fortunately she doesn't have to find answers alone. She has her best friend Sean who wants to be there for her any time she needs him. Together they sneak out to find what Sky is looking for, but that isn't without danger.
Blackfin is a fascinating village, there are secrets and people are hiding things, but everyone knows that there's something going on. Sky's living in a house that's somehow alive, a house that has a sad history. I liked that aspect of the story a lot. There are also people in the village who have special abilities and they're all living together in secluded peace. Only that is about to change.
Blackfin is a village where anything can happen. It's an interesting place and I loved to read about it. I also wanted to know more about Sky and her family. Blackfin Sky is a thrilling read, I really liked the story and all the possibilities it has. I loved all the main characters and the bit of magic made me very happy. The ending is fascinatind and a perfect finale of this intriguing story. Blackfin Sky is a fantastic book and I highly recommend it.
