Suze Loves Agutik

I love Agutik, it's such a fun and cheerful shop filled with wonderful handmade toys.

The toys are made from different kinds of materials and everything is very cute. I discovered the shop while I was looking for something kawaii. This snail for example is so adorable.

I've asked the owners of the shop, Svetlana and Valentina, a few questions to find out more about them.

How did your Etsy adventure start?

Of course the first toys we made were for our own kids, it was doll clothing for our 6 year old girl and a rattle toy for our newborn. After that we made many gifts for our friend's kids, we had a lot of ideas as well as free time, so we decided to create our own store! This was primarily because of our desire to create and the excitement it brings. We work together because we are mother and daughter and we are similar in spirit, we both love handicrafts, we always try different techniques and admire the works of other artists.

What inspires you?
Of course we get inspiration from our children, we have a girl and 2 boys (my son and my sister's kids), and in the process of their growing our products change as well. The products that are successful on Etsy, we leave in our assortment, but we're also moving forward by coming up with new educational games.

Where/how did you learn your craft?

We've learned to sew and knit during our childhood, which in Latvia is absolutely normal. It has been like that for many generations. It's about the creative mood and the desire to do something with our hands. We are studying new, modern technologies on the Internet. One of our new hobbies is polymer clay.

What are your plans for the future?

Our main plan for the future is the opening of the second store on Etsy, the store will focus on products made from polymer clay, it's wonderful material with endless possibilities. We'll continue selling name banners for bedrooms, jewelry for little girls and their moms and lot of other interesting things! Of course for "Agutik'' we're also planning to work on growth and we'll keep developing new products!

You can find Agutik on Facebook as well. If you like their products you'd make them very happy if you like their page.

The toys in this shop are all so well thought out and beautifully developed.

There's such an happy vibe and the items all look like childhood treasures.

I think the prices are very reasonable, especially given the amount of time it takes to make these toys. Agutik is selling something special, which is still very affordable.

Check out this fabulous Etsy store and enjoy shopping!
