Megan McAllister is home for Christmas…whether she likes it or not!
Christmas
is about family…and for Megan family means two people: herself, and her
daughter Skye. It doesn’t mean her parents who, ten years ago, saw her
pregnancy as anything but a miracle. And it definitely doesn’t include
her irresistible ex-boyfriend Lucas Bright.
So ‘Driving Home for Christmas’
has never been top of Megan’s festive playlist. But for Skye, she knows
she needs to spend the holiday season with the people she’s left
behind. She can do this. Even if the thought of meeting Lucas under the
mistletoe still has her feeling like she’s drunk one-too-many Snowballs!
But
somewhere between the hanging of stockings and the crackle of wrapping
paper, Christmas starts to sparkle. And Megan begins to wonder if family
could be bigger than her and Skye after all…

Review
Megan's daughter Skye is the most
important person in her life. She loves her very much and wants what's
best for her. They have a strong bond and are good friends. Skye is a
great kid, she's unbelievably bright and she's good company. Megan's
aunt has been there for them ever since Skye was a baby. Unfortunately
Megan's parent's weren't that supportive and she hasn't seen them ever
since she told them she was pregnant. Her mother had big plans for her
and Megan had to make them happen whatever the costs. The only good
thing in her life was her boyfriend Lucas and Megan also hasn't seen him
since she left her home town before Skye was born.
Megan's
parents have invited her for Christmas. After many years without
contact she now has to visit her family again. It means that she can't
escape her past any longer. She keeps running into Lucas and even though
she tries not to care about him, it's difficult. Skye loves spending
time with her grandparents and with Lucas, so for her Megan has to be
strong and face the people she's so carefully avoided. Will she be able
to survive this Christmas at home?
Driving
Home for Christmas is a story about a woman who has a difficult past.
Megan has a lot of bad memories to deal with. There were also some good
times and they were mostly with Lucas. Even though Christmas is part of
this novel it's also a story that can be read throughout the year as it
isn't only about the holidays. Megan's history is much more important. I
enjoyed reading this book very much and I think it's really good. I
think A.L. Michael has written a wonderful story and I'm happy I had the
chance to read it.
