Sunday's Fabulous Freebie: The Christmas Bake Off by Abby Clements

With Christmas just around the corner, the residents of Skipley village are gearing up for the annual bake off, and tensions are high.

Winning means a lot to everyone involved - talented cake-shop owner Katie dreams of baking stardom, Rachel wants to prove she's more than a stay-at-home mum, and John hopes his culinary skills will impress the woman he loves.

But when the judges discover that some cakes have been tampered with, the villagers' loyalties are called into question - whose ambition would stretch to sabotage, and why?

The Christmas Bake Off is an exclusive short story from Abby Clements, author of Meet Me Under the Mistletoe. This ebook edition also includes bonus recipes for cinnamon cookies and vanilla and almond biscuits.

In Skipley village the annual bake off is a huge event. Everyone in the village is excited as a television star is one of the judges. He's looking for new talent for his show. Katie's bakery could use some more customers and a little bit of extra attention and her friend Rachel wants to prove that she's good at something, she's given it her all. John has entered to show the woman he's in love with that he has some hidden talents. Unfortunately things aren't going according to plan when the jury discovers someone's sabotaged the bake off.  The question is, who would do such a thing?
The Christmas Bake Off is a short story and it's a great one. I'm a huge fan of Abby Clements, because I love the atmosphere she always manages to create. I could picture the Village Hall and everyone in it. I also wanted to know who sabotaged the event and why. I loved the main characters who were all connected. This story is lovely and it's a wonderful freebie that will make you feel festive straight away. It has everything, delicious cakes, a little bit of intrigue, love, friendship and a wonderful family. As a bonus there's a great recipe on the last page. You will definitely enjoy this!

If you haven't read it yet I highly recommend Abby Clements's Meet Me Under The Mistletoe which is a fabulous Christmas read, it's one of my all time favorites.
