Oddball Art Co. is my Etsy Seller of the Week! + Giveaway

My Etsy Seller of the Week is Oddball Art Co. The owner, Lizzy, is a mixed media artist and I've chosen this shop because I love her art. The colors are vibrant and the faces are beautiful. I love the cuteness of it all as well.

I've bought something from Oddball Art Co. recently and it's stunning. Lizzy made new art with a print of one of her paintings. It's such a great idea and the result is very pretty. Lizzy also sent me a fabulous gift and I'm very happy with my art. The packaging was sturdy and the delivery speedy. It was an easy and pleasant transaction and I highly recommend Lizzy's shop.

I've asked Lizzy a couple of questions to find out more about her, her shop and her art.

1) Could you tell me a bit more about your art?

I have a huge collection of big eyed girls that I design in all sorts of funky outfits and situations! I love to create mixed media paintings, as well as art dolls and hand painted back packs and t-shirts. As well I create digi stamps out of my designs. my artwork is described as the perfect combination of sweet and sour that glitters up the grunge. I love to paint creepy cute, whimsical and spooky, kawaii characters, big eyed girls and stitched up zombies.

2) When and Why have you decided to start selling on Etsy?

I started my shop in November 2010 after making the decision to pursue my art hobby as a full time job. At that time I had never even heard of Etsy before but knew I wanted to have a website so after looking around the net for options I stumbled across Etsy and it was love at first sight! I created my shop immediately and haven't turned back.

3) Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration everywhere and in everything! I am a dedicated vegan and love to pull inspiration from that, as well as in nature and cute animals of all whom I love with all my heart! I have a Labradoodle named Isabelle who is a great source of inspiration to me as well as my 4 kitties! I carry a pocket sized journal and pen in my bag so I can take note of anything inspiring no matter where I am at because you never know when inspiration will strike!

4) What are your plans for the future?

I am currently renovating my new studio and am hoping to be moved in within the next couple of weeks. Once I am moved in I will be opening my studio up to the public and holding mixed media workshops, my first one if everything goes as planned will be a Christmas workshop. Anyone who wants to be notified when registration will open for my first workshop in my new studio can sign up to be notified by email on my website

5) Is there anything else my readers should know about you?

I regularly support a few different charities with my artwork: the Canadian Cancer Society, PETA & IFAW

I love Lizzy's owls, the eyes of the girls are beautiful and I like that everything is so funky. When I look at the faces I'm wondering what the characters are thinking. I bet they all have their own story, which is what makes Lizzy's art so interesting for me.

Lizzy has kindly donated a gift certificate and the lucky winner will be able to spend $25 in her shop. There are a lot of beautiful things you can purchase with that voucher. Enter the rafflecopter below and good luck!

I will contact the winner on twitter or via email. If I don't get a reply within 60 hours the prize will go to someone else.

I would choose one of her dolls. I just love her art. I do know what exactly it is about it that draws me to it, but I have been a fan for several years.

I think her art is dark and whimsical at the same time. Cute, but melancholy, too. There's a real tension there.
