Aurora Wings is my November Artist of the Month! & Giveaway

Today I'm featuring an Etsy seller whose fantasy art I truly love. I can't stop looking at the beautiful fantasy designs! Aurora Wings is selling the most stunning art! The owner, Mitzi, is originally from Japan, but she now lives in Colorado.

Art has always been Mitzi's passion, but it wasn't the only one. Mitzi used to be a dancer. Unfortunately an injury ended her career. Since then she's been a full time artist. What I immediately noticed when I looked at her work is the wonderful body positions in her drawings. I can see the dancing in her art. She understands postures and knows how to draw bodies and limbs. Mitzi plays with positions and shapes which is giving her drawings a unique flow.

Besides fantasy creatures Mitzi also draws cats. I think they are so cute and playful.

I asked Mitzi why she's selling on Etsy and this is her reply:

'Like many self-representing artists out there, my Etsy shop is one of many places where I sell my art, although the nature of this shop makes it very different from all the others since customer service and merchandising are hands-on and personal. It was my daughter who suggested that I sell my art on Etsy. I was reluctant at first. It all just seemed so "labor intensive" and daunting to deal with taking photos, writing item descriptions, and handling packing and shipping after having gotten out of doing it almost a decade ago. Though I have to say that I'm glad to be able to give a personal touch to all of my transactions here. I didn't realize at first, but I've come to understand that being able to have direct contact/communication with customers means a lot to me.'

There's a fantastic Aurora Wings blog where you can find fun challenges. Mitzi sells a lot of digital stamps and with them you can make the most wonderful things. They're great for everyone who loves to do crafts. Here's an example of what you can do with the images.

Mitzi sells original artwork, digital stamps, ACEOs, prints and postcards. I had such a hard time limiting the number of photos to show in this post. I'm a huge fan of fantasy art and of Mitzi's work.

A lot of Mitzi's work is sweet, but fantasy also has a darker site. I like that dual aspect. There's something for everyone, for children and adults.

There's an active facebook group where members can share the work they've created with Mitzi's digital stamps. It's a lot of fun!

Aurora Wings has a great website where you can find news, information and a gallery where you can see more of Mitzi's art.

I can't help, but be drawn to cuter drawings and depictions of fantasy. But, there are some really beautiful, dark pieces as well that I appreciate.
