Asana Natural Arts is Etsy Seller of the Week! + Giveaway

The Etsy Seller of the Week is Asana Natural Arts. Asana is a mother/daughter team. They use butterflies from farms from all over the world to create their jewelry. Those farms help the butterfly species to survive and they're actually saving the butterflies. The butterflies have lived a normal and natural life. By using them after they've passed away to make jewelry their beauty can be captured to be enjoyed for a much longer time. The farms benefit from this arrangement as well, they're using the good things the rain forest has to offer without damaging it.

Zell is one of the owners of the shop. On her About page you can find a lot more information about the butterflies, the farms and the rain forest.

I asked Zell two questions and below you can find her answers.

1) What inspired you to make this beautiful jewelry?

My inspiration came while discovering a butterfly farm on vacation in December 2009. After falling in love with the experience and idea of creating artwork with butterflies my business was born. Through lots of trial and error I have developed my own methods for preserving the butterfly wings and nature items I work with. As a result, I have created a variety of unique jewelry and home decor artwork.

2) What are your materials of choice besides butterfly wings?

The other nature items I work with include beetle wings, porcupine quills, four-leaf clovers, flowers, and seashells.

Zell's work is magnificent. On the photos you can't see the enchanting iridescent effect of the butterfly wings when they catch the light. It's stunning and I love it. Zell has found a way to preserve the wings in a natural and elegant way which enhances their beauty.

There's also a website where you can find more stunning jewelry and home decor items.

For me butterflies represent freedom and I can look at their colorful wings for hours. I highly recommend Asana Natural Arts. Both the products and the service are great.

Zell has kindly donated 3 pairs of earrings made from the wings of the Papilio Bromius. This giveaway will have 3 lucky winners! As usual it's international. Good luck!

  1. I like their colors and seeing them makes me smile. I find it funny to watch them in the garden of my neighbor while her cat is chasing them (and never catches one)
