Tunic Botik is the Etsy Seller of the Week! & Giveaway

My Etsy Seller of the Week is Deepa Gens from Tunic Botik. When I saw her beautiful and colorful designs on Etsy for the first time I fell in love with them straight away. There's so much detail in her work and every little piece is exactly right. I have so many favorites in this store that it will be hard to limit the number of photos in my post. I could have selected all of them.

I love these butterflies and the bird. I can't stop looking at them. Because of the details and the combinations of colors they are stunning!

I've asked Deepa a few questions and I love her replies!

1) When did you start creating?

I always loved to create which started early in my childhood. I grew up wearing colourful dresses that my mum made for me. I was on top of the world when she gave me her huge collection of embroidery designs (Thanks mum!). I used those designs in my fabric painting experiments and did make some money out of it. This was my first business venture!

2) Could you tell me how and when you started on Etsy? And are you a full time artist?

I did my post graduation in Nutrition and worked as a nutritionist until I got married and came to Sydney. I was really excited because of my new role as a mother. I chose to stay at home to be with the kids and my creative journey came to life again. I did a lot of experiments with sewing, embroidery and painting in my free time. Finding matching jewellery for the outfits was the hardest part... I solved it by learning jewellery making and polymer clay opened a new world of colours for me. I could make jewellery in any colour that I wanted. It is so versatile with endless possibilities. I couldn't wait to display my creations and Etsy made it possible. Soon after Tunic Botik was born. It's been over an year since I started working with polymer clay and I would love to continue this for years to come. Making jewellery with polymer clay is my passion and it's now a full time job.

3) Where do you find inspiration?

Spring and summer inspire me heaps as these are the most colourful seasons of the year. I work on floral patterns a lot which conveys my love for flowers.

Deepa has kindly offered a stunning piece of her jewelry. She will give away an amazing personalized necklace. This necklace can be made in many different colors and it will have the name of the winner on it. Enter the rafflecopter below to have a chance to win this beautiful necklace!

I do enjoy wearing necklaces, but also, I find it hard to find my initial or my name on pieces because my name is fairly unique! There's always a "Sara," but rarely if ever, a "Zara" floating around. I usually have to get my jewellery personalized! Great giveaway, as usual. Thanks!

  14. I like wearing necklaces to work (in a library). Sometimes they can be a talking point with the borrowers, when we are not talking about books! I like the green/turquoise combination.
