My wonderful friend Agi sent me this guest post as a birthday present. I think it's so special that she's made this top 7 for me, because she knows how much I like finding new gems to read. I love this post and can't wait to read these books!
Agi has spoiled me very much as she also sent me a card and some lovely gifts. I'm really grateful we've met and I'm very happy that she's my friend. Thank you Agi!
Suzanne, or like we know her better, Librarian
Lavender, has already found her place in a blogging community. She's
always cheery, nice and has a nice word for everybody so it's no wonder
that so many people wanted to contribute to her birthday. Yours Truly
included.
As we share an unending love to books I have thought I would write about my Top Books that I would give Lavender for her birthday. So Lavender, it's virtually your birthday present from me :)
I've come up with the unusual number 7. Normally
it's Top 5 or Top 10 or Top 20 or other round number, I know, but in
fact it is much more than seven, I have cheated a little. Pssst!
1. Lucy Robinson's books. Actually, all of them.
She has written 3 and all of them are absolute bestsellers, and I have
bought and gave them to my close family and friends as presents. So
Lavender, you are for a real treat, believe me!
2. Marian Keyes. Marian is the queen of chick -
lit and I'm sure everybody heard about her. Her books are bittersweet
and hilariously funny but with a right dose of cynicism and you must be
able to read between the lines. My personal favourite would be The Other
Side of the Story and I'm giving this book to you Lavender (virtually
:) ) as a birthday present.
3. Bridget Jones. I guess you can either love or
hate Bridget. I belong to the first category and I have passed on my
love for Bridget to my mother, sister, cousins, friends...
4. The Devil Wears Prada. My copy looks very
battered already. And well, what can say? It's an absolute MUST READ for
every girl.
5. Adrian Mole. Ekhm. Even my husband read Adrian
and laughed out loud, and he usually doesn't read. It's a cult book. An
icon book. And I would be very sad if you won't read it.
6. Harry Potter. Do I need to explain why? A nice,
colourful box of Harry Potter books, I couldn't imagine a better
present, and you?
7. The Six Bullerby Children. I have got it as a
present from my father and we used to compete which of us read it more
often. I have one and am going to give this book as a present to my
daughter as well.
So, this would be my birthday present for you
Suuz. I hope you are going to enjoy all the books and I also hope that
there is a lot of time in the future for us to banter about our
favourite reads and life altogether. Hope you had a great birthday!
Agree with all these books but not read the six bullbery children.
