Questions for Suzanne

A little while ago I asked my friends on twitter and facebook if they had some questions for me. It was really great to answer all of the wonderful things they've asked me.

Tanya:
1) Why do you write as a fictional character?

I wanted to write something that would be freely accessible for everyone. I used to love serials in magazines or newspapers and decided to try if I could do something like that on a blog. I'm really happy I gave it a shot. After a little over seven months of writing I still love Librarian Lavender and I've got plenty of ideas for the future.

2) What's your favourite place to visit in the summer holidays?

I love going to France. I've been there too many times to count, but there are still new things to see and places to visit. I love the scenery and shopping is great as well. This summer I've spent a few days in Paris and I'm going to a city on the French/Belgian border for a long weekend. I've been in France dozens of times and the country keeps amazing me. For my next trip I want to go to another country, I would love to see more of the world, but free time is limited and I can't imagine not going to France. That's usually a bit tricky.

3) How many books do you read per week?

I think I read about five books a week. Before I started blogging I often managed to read up to eight, but since I've started writing about books I have less time to read them.

   4) What your favourite colour?

I used to think my favourite colour was blue and that Lavender's is pink, but when I look around me I see so many pink things that I have to admit I like pink a lot more than I thought.

    5) Were would you like to go on holiday to?

I would love to go to London next. That's high on my wish list. After that I would love to visit New York, but I also want to go to the Provence, because I feel homesick. Not that I ever lived there, but we went there every year when I was a child and I have so many fond memories. It's such a beautiful place and I miss it too much if I don't go back at least every other year.

    6) What's your favourite drink?

Non alcoholic: Lime lemonade. I really like citrus fruits and they're the perfect ingredients for a cool summer drink.
Alcoholic: Champagne, I love a good vintage!

7) If you'd be stranded on a deserted island and you could only take one book, which one would it be?

The His Dark Materials Trilogy by Philip Pullman. I have these three books in an omnibus and I liked reading them so much. The book was a gift of a friend and it brings back a lot of memories that can keep me company while I'm out there on my own.

8)  If you could interview any writer deceased or alive who would it be?

That's a difficult question, because there are so many great authors, but I think I would choose someone who's alive. I would love to interview J.K. Rowling. She's written several successful books now after Harry Potter and I think that's such a great achievement. It's too bad that this interview is never going to happen, but it's a nice thing to dream about.

Rebecca
9) What is your favourite tense to read? Past or present?

I like reading about the present and that's often what I go for when I'm choosing a book. Every time I read about the past though I like it very much. I should step out of my comfort zone a little bit more often.

Margaret
10) Do lavender and Suzanne have the same taste in books?

I love this question and the answer is not entirely. I read a lot more romance and chick lit as Librarian Lavender. Before I started blogging I often read literature and I read a lot of paranormal and fantasy novels. I still read them, but it isn't the only thing I read anymore.
