Etsy Seller of the Week + Giveaway

The Etsy seller of this week is Palomaria. The owner, Melina, has been an artist for a very long time. Before she started her Etsy store she created wedding stationery. She still makes things for brides to be and bridesmaids, only now it's pretty jewelry. She loves working with clay and her creations have beautiful colors and textures. Every piece she makes is unique, it's all handmade.

A lot of Melina's jewelry is customized. When you buy something from her you can choose between your name, an initial or a date. This way you have something special that will be just for you. I love that aspect of Melina's store. Her items are classy and personal.

Melina opened her Etsy store in 2010. Since two years it's her main source of income. She loves her work and there are many things that inspire her. She likes antique botanical prints, traveling, calligraphy, flowers, artisan markets and textiles from India and Latin America. She just has to look around her to awake her creativity.

Melina uses air-dry and eco-friendly clays that are made from recycled paper, water based glues and cornstarch. Her creations are very strong. First she uses a metal plate to create the texture, then she paints them by hand and in the final stage she gives them a water based sealant. The pieces are made to order, so they are all different. I love the beautiful vintage look and feel of her jewelry. It's stylish and really pretty.

One very lucky winner will get a surprise piece from Melina. She will make something nice especially for that person!

  3. My favourite piece of jewelry is an antique, thick, silver necklace that I inherited from my great grandmother. It looks very unique and I usually put a ring or large pendant on it.
