Book Club Night! The Chronicles of Ixia by Maria V. Snyder

On Book Club Night Betty, Christie, Nolan and I are reading a series together, but we're also talking about our favorite books. We've all got lists with the books we absolutely love and The Chronicles of Ixia by Maria V. Snyder are Betty's number one. I've read these books a few years ago and couldn't put them away. I spent nights reading, because I wanted to know what would happen to Yelena and Opal.
The world building is absolutely wonderful and the heroines are amazing. They both have a special place in our hearts. They had to endure so much and always found their way out. What makes these books so special is the magic of the characters, every single one of them has a different quality. I'm very sure I'm going to read those books again and again. Every time I open one it feels like it's my birthday.

We talked about world building and how we would do it. I think in our hearts we all aspire to become authors. I don't really know why we're doing a management course for cultural institutions, but I guess it's a plan B or a safety net. Coincidentally we've started to write our books around the same time, but they aren't necessarily fantasy. We love to read it, but you can't always control which story you're going to tell. Nolan is writing a fairytale, Betty is working on a chick lit novel and Christie is our science fiction specialist. None of us have ever published anything, but maybe we can encourage each other to reach that goal?

  5. I absolutely love this series. I usually cycle through my books and then reread after I have a couple of other series, but after I finished this series and the glass series that goes along with this one, I am starting over. This time I plan to read them chronologically in order instead per series.
